Short Biography
Hello! Welcome to my academic homepage!
I am an anthropologist interested in transnationalism, diaspora, international development and business anthropology. I have done ethnographic fieldwork in Ghana, Nigeria, China, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Some of my research have been published by Johns Hopkins University’s China Africa Research Initiative. My first book on Chinese skilled migrants and entrepreneurs in Africa will be published by Lexington Books.
Several places I have lived for extended period of time include Urumqi, Shanghai, the Netherlands, Ghana, Florida and Ohio. I hold a PhD from the University of Florida and taught at Miami University. Over the past 12 years, I have taught undergraduate students, high school students, and professionals. I am currently an independent scholar and the founder of K2 Academy, an educational non-profit organization since 2020.
